Exiling certainly works in taking care of Avacyn, same with dealing out -1/-1 counters
Eight is typically too much to pay unless it wins you the game on the spot, and I think Ardyn is just too vulnerable to be as good as the other expensive bombs in this set like Summon: Knights of Round and Summon: Bahamut
If an ability of the equipped creature states that it has flying "as long as" a condition is true, that condition becoming true won't cause the creature to gain flying
Small details like Which crappy tertiary two-color land do I play? actually make a big difference in this format because you have to play a bunch of lands that key off each other
